These are great boots. They are very comfortable and stylish. I waited several years to buy this type of boot. I am glad I did. They run a half size big.

They are the most comfortable boots. No Velcro, but easy to pull in and out. The leather is amazing inside as well; smooth to wear it.

Comfortable and beautiful - I needed to replace a pair of black leather boots. I wanted something sleek, simple, classy, and with rubber soles as it's icy here for much of the winter. I've gone through many pairs of leather boots that have either fallen apart or haven't had enough traction. When I came across this pair, I made the huge decision to make the investment and hope to have them for a lifetime. One of the biggest issues was finding a pair of high-end leather boots with rubber soles that had some type of traction. These seem to do the trick. The boots itself are sleek and beautiful, but the soles have traction. I'm between and 8.5 and a 9 (more often an 8.5), and then 8.5 fits perfectly. I have rather large athletic calves, but a small frame. The boots fit well. I can't wait to wear them!

So beautiful...but not for my non-couture legs - I waited a full year to order these, obsessing all the while, and they are as perfect as I hoped, but sadly not for my average to a-bit-thick leg. They "fit", but too tightly, and hit at just the point where the flesh bulges above them a little in a very not attractive way in tights; would not be able to get them over any pants. Go with the half size down recommendation for your thinner legs (the 9B was perfect for my Ferragamo 9C foot) and enjoy -- I will be very jealous and going back to Frye etc. for my very American legs (which until now I have not had a problem fitting into boots).

The only boots I'll wear for the next few years. I received these boots as a gift (from the awesome boyfriend!) after searching for over a year for the perfect pair of boots. I'm 5'3" and have slimmer than average legs, so most boots come up too high right below my knee and have a strange looking gap between my calf and the top of the boots. While these still come up right below my knee, the shaft is much more fitted and leaves no gap whether I wear them with a pair of jeans or leggings. The fit couldn't be more perfect! As the other reviewers have said, you must go down an entire size when ordering these. I'm usually a 6.5-7, and I'm currently wearing a size 5.5. The first wear was not very comfortable and the 5.5 felt too tight even with thin socks. However, after having worn them 3 times for several hours, they have stretched and do not feel as constricting on my toes. If you're really unsure about your size, I would recommend bringing a pair of socks to the store to try them on (but buy them on Zappos to avoid tax!). Although these boots are beautiful and will draw the satisfying, lustful stares of many women, I'm not going to lie--they are not your walk-everywhere-everyday boots. I admit that I have a lower threshold for discomfort (I almost never wear heels), but these boots have no support in the soles and are hard on the feet. It feels like walking on wooden soles. With that said, they're not horrible to walk in and won't give you blisters, but I was secretly glad to take them off after walking around for a couple of hours. Overall, these boots are fantastic and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to shorter/slimmer women looking for better fitting boots. They are classic, and I know I'll still be rocking these when all the crazy Lady Gaga fads have come and gone.

These boots are gorgeous. I suggest ordering a half size smaller than you usually wear as they do run big.

I love this boot. I have been searching for the perfect boot, and this is it. True, you need to go at least one-half to one size smaller, but the quality, look, and feel of this boot is second to none. I have gotten so many compliments on this boot - I feel so great wearing them. They are comfortable, and just the right amount of "flash" with the little gold buckle at the top. They are classic and elegant - something I envision the royal family wearing for outings in the woods. You can't go wrong with this boot if you're looking for a classic, riding type boot.

Loved these! Ended up finding them in nero at another store - both are great. But was a little upset the nero doesn't have the gold accent and it is more of a pewter/silver. Ended up going with the nero in any event b/c I think they will go with more in my closet. The fondente is a beautiful dark brown. I wish I could keep both. Definitely order a size down. I usually wear a 7.5, sometimes an 8 (never usually a 7) and ended up with the 6.5 and fit perfectly with thin socks. Also, the shoe feels more narrow than most, which is good for my narrow foot. The calf is also narrow, which I love b/c typically the calf of boots is too wide on me. Very comfy so far wearing them today for the first day - commuted to work (NY subway), been in them for about 5 hours so far with not a single issue (even for a new shoe). Highly rec'd.

I am petite with skinny calves and always have a hard time getting boots that aren't too big around my calves. These were perfect and worth every penny. They feel 1 size larger than marked though. I normally wear 5.5 and the 5 is still a little big. These are so classic and comfy.

Beautiful boot. Easy on/off. I have a narrow heel and was concerned about slippage but it really is not a problem, especially with a thin insert that I like for a little extra arch support anyway.
