I am heading to Russia next week and suddenly realized I am not shoe-ready for -15 and ice on the sidewalks. Decided to give Zappos a try. Heard so much about them. Ferragamo is one of my favorite shoe makers. Much to my surprise Zappos had tall top Italian makers at much less than what you would pay in Europe. Ordered these boots at 6 pm last night. Paid for next day delivery figuring that since it was late on Thursday, I might see them Saturday or even Monday. Today at 1:30 pm UPS guy was knocking on my door. Are you kidding me? That is truly amazing. The boots are perfect. The leather first rate. Craftsmanship is superb. Looks like Daniel Day Lewis worked on these himself. As I hoped, the boot is an excellent combination of a rugged shoe with the looks that would work in a formal meeting. Sizing was spot on. When my feet slipped in and I zipped up the boots, I felt like I was in heaven. Great support of the arch and ankle. And they feel like they will last 10+ years. What a deal. I am a new Zappos convert.

Sizing, your choices for width are slim and standard. Standard most often refers to a D, these are EE/EEE. I assume the slim must be a D width. The style of the boot is very nice. Just be aware that these are made of rubber. The sole and upper are rubber. Little spendy for rubber boots.

The leather is smooth and beautiful and unblemished. The slim width is actually fairly wide. I normally use a D width and it is very comfortable. The wide version must be truly extra-wide.
