About Proenza Schouler

Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez first met at Parsons School of Design in New York, where they both majored in fashion design. After years of designing separately, the two teamed up to create their senior collection, which was met by rave reviews. The initial success of the partnership led them to launch their own independent label, Proenza Schouler. The name Proenza Schouler is a combination of their mothers' maiden names.

Following graduation, the first Proenza Schouler collection debuted in Spring/Summer of 2003. The fashion world instantly took notice. The press hailed Proenza Schouler as the "future of fashion." The collection was sold to stores throughout North America, Europe, and Asia, positioning Proenza Schouler as an international luxury brand.
