About the Brand

A San Francisco native, Derek Lam was born into fashion. While he only just recently began producing the Derek Lam eyewear collection, designing has always been a part of his life. As a child he would sit in his grandparents’ garment factory watching the seamstresses and adoring the work they were doing. Following in his family’s footsteps into fashion, Derek Lam graduated from a top New York design school in 1990. After working in a high end fashion house, Derek Lam ventured to Hong Kong in order to gain more experience at a large retail brand. Since the inception of his own label in 2003, he has become a popular name in high fashion.

In 2006 he launched the Derek Lam eyewear collection saying, “It’s wonderful, because now I’m playing in a playground where the possibilities are unlimited.” With these unlimited possibilities, Derek Lam’s eyewear designs bring high fashion to everyday functionality. Unique color combinations and subtle detailing are just some of the features that set Derek Lam sunglasses aside from other eyewear designers.

Born on the idea of understated glamour, Derek Lam sunglasses add instant luxury to any look.
