Native New Yorker Marc Jacobs began his design career in 1981 when he attended Parsons School of Design. On the evening that Marc Jacobs was showing his senior collection and receiving some of the school's highest honors, a fashion executive in the audience took immediate notice. The conversation that followed led to the creation of a partnership based on two very simple concepts: a love for fashion and a commitment to quality.
Two years later, Marc Jacobs ventured out and designed his first clothing collection bearing the Marc Jacobs label. In 1995, he launched his first full collection of men's ready-to-wear clothing. 2000 saw the launch of the first Marc Jacobs handbag collection.
In 2001, Marc Jacobs and his business partner, Robert Duffy, introduced their secondary collection, Marc by Marc Jacobs. It was established on the basis of providing a collection of comparatively affordable, edgy, and retro-inspired mass-market pieces. Since then, the collection has continued to grow exponentially to include Marc by Marc Jacobs shoes, Marc by Marc Jacobs handbags, Marc by Marc Jacobs jewelry, Marc by Marc Jacobs eyewear, Marc by Marc Jacobs hair accessories, and Marc by Marc Jacobs watches.
Each season, the Marc by Marc Jacobs collections are created with the aim of providing quality shoes, handbags, accessories, eyewear and watches with high fashion designs incorporating the signature quirkiness and unique sense of style that Marc by Marc Jacobs has come to be known for.

Love! Have been a Marc by Marc Jacobs fan for many years. As always great quality and a perfect bag for everyday. Nice size. My only complaint is that the trims (strap, handle, ID tag) are not made from real leather. But that's not a deal-breaker for me, I'm keeping it.

Plastic instead of leather. Pockets are more restrictive than convenient. Nylon is heavier than expected. The ID card that might be useful cannot be tucked smoothly in to the pocket it hangs over due to magnet centered underneath. The body strap seems like an afterthought and makes the shoulder strap hang strangely when clipped in. Large pleather label was sewn on crookedly. This bag had a lot of good ideas that didn't come together well. I had really looked forward to it, but was very disappointed.

I reluctantly bought this bag after reading the reviews. I have a few Marc Jacobs bags in leather and nylon and have loved each one. So I took a chance. I bought the navy while it was available and love it, as do a few of my coworkers. I get compliments on all my Marc Jacobs handbags and this one is no different. The pockets are all perfect and the the crossbody strap fits very well. Overall it is the perfect size. I could not be happier.

I bought this bag about a year ago, loving the overall style/ design. The handle is not made of leather, and it began to crack and split open after just a couple of months of normal use. I would post a picture if I could. Very, very poor quality for a bag that was this price! NEVER AGAIN! I recently bought a Dooney and Bourke nylon tote that has actual leather straps and the quality is much better. DO NOT BUY THIS BAG! Save yourself the money!

Poor quality for the price, cheap strap, awkward size under the arm. Expected better quality for being a Marc by Marc Jacobs bag.
