I know some reviewers found these shoes "Extemely comfortable," but to me the 3" heel feels exactly like a 3" heel. It does not have any cushioning underfoot, nor does it have a platform under the forefoot that would reduce the effective slope of the heel. If you, like me, find heels that high place painful pressure on your forefoot when you stand or walk for any length of time, these shoes will not solve that problem. Also, the heel, while better than a stiletto, is narrow enough that I very much have the unstable feeling typical of a high heel. Also found that my usual 6½C was too short. However, the shoes are really beautiful, the upper is very well constructed and comfortable, it feels like it would be unlikely to slip or rub blisters, and the patent leather is less stiff than patent often is. Sadly, I had to return these and keep the Cole Haan Air Talia 40 wedge with a lower, wider heel.

I wanted to like these, but I couldn't. I bought them after reading the NYT article and had high hopes. Unfortunately, they're just not comfortable! They run a half size small, and when you size up, if your foot is at all narrow, you slide forward. They're not cushioned either.

The reviews here, albeit helpful, led me to go half a size larger than usual with the camel patent ones. I recall one particular review specifically mentioning the patent ones running small. Unfortunately, in my case, I shouldn't have done that. Just ordered my regular size 8 and will soon return the 8.5 I first purchased. The shoes are well made, with a reasonable wedge heel that I feel comfortable walking with. The camel color is perfect without any pink undertone, and it's not too dark to render it brown.

Love, love these shoes. I bought in the tan patent color, and then I bought in the black/navy patent color. Extremely comfortable.

These are great shoes. I love the navy blue pair I have so I came back for the "Chocolate Brown". Warning - It is not at all the deep brown shown on the web site! It is a much lighter, greyish medium brown. Nice color but not what I want or thought I was getting. Sending back.
