Kate Spade New York Flatiron Nylon Cammy
I like this bag and I plan to keep it, but I don't love it, and here's why: although it is a nice size for everyday basics (small cosmetics bag, small wallet, smartphone, pens, keys, lip balm, mints, sunglasses, etc)., it has no inside organization except for a zippered pocket, and the outside pocket has a weak magnet that does not hold it closed. You would not want to keep anything valuable in the outside pocket, that's for sure. Additionally, while acknowledging that this bag is on the low-end price spectrum for a Kate Spade, the buckles are PLASTIC. Really, Kate? You couldn't spring for metal? I expect that they will break at some point (there is considerable friction/difficulty in adjusting the strap from shoulder bag to cross body); a cobbler should be able to replace them with something more durable at that time, but I expect more from a so-called "couture" line of handbags. The strap is comfortable and does not slide off of the shoulder. The gold spade logo is nice; unlike the similar (and slightly larger, with a zippered outside pocket) Jan, which contains what amounts to a mini-license plate, this one is classy and subtle. Kate Spade's nylon is of excellent quality, is easy to clean, and wears well; I expect this bag will be no different. In all, it is an elegant bag that can go from the office to evening, holding the essentials in a classic style that won't look dated ten years from now (that is, if the plastic holds up)!
