Kate Spade New York Flatiron Nylon Cammy
I like this bag and I plan to keep it, but I don't love it, and here's why: although it is a nice size for everyday basics (small cosmetics bag, small wallet, smartphone, pens, keys, lip balm, mints, sunglasses, etc)., it has no inside organization except for a zippered pocket, and the outside pocket has a weak magnet that does not hold it closed. You would not want to keep anything valuable in the outside pocket, that's for sure. Additionally, while acknowledging that this bag is on the low-end price spectrum for a Kate Spade, the buckles are PLASTIC. Really, Kate? You couldn't spring for metal? I expect that they will break at some point (there is considerable friction/difficulty in adjusting the strap from shoulder bag to cross body); a cobbler should be able to replace them with something more durable at that time, but I expect more from a so-called "couture" line of handbags. The strap is comfortable and does not slide off of the shoulder. The gold spade logo is nice; unlike the similar (and slightly larger, with a zippered outside pocket) Jan, which contains what amounts to a mini-license plate, this one is classy and subtle. Kate Spade's nylon is of excellent quality, is easy to clean, and wears well; I expect this bag will be no different. In all, it is an elegant bag that can go from the office to evening, holding the essentials in a classic style that won't look dated ten years from now (that is, if the plastic holds up)!
I'd also recommend: Cole Haan, Dooney & Bourke

I got this as a gift for someone who I knew didn't own a crossbody bag & could use it for everyday errands, etc but most of the crossbodies seem smaller than what she would want to have for her wallet, phone, glasses case, etc. I really liked the size of this & also that the design was a little different than the 'typical' KS or other brand fabrics. I know it is called nylon but I was not expecting the sort of shiny/slippery feel of the nylon...once I got past that, the bag grew on me. She said she liked it, so hopefully she did! I agree with the other review that the hardware is plastic and that is sort of a drag but I disagree that it is difficult to readjust the strap, and if the same person is using it all the time, it shouldn't have to be moved again/much. I am not sure if it is worth the price unless you really want this particular size and a fabric that is a little different than the usual.
